Hi everyone,
After doing the exercise on pages 93 and 115. I've notice that my concern lately has been my fitness level. I've learn that to grow and develop myself in this level ,I need to stay focus and find more time to train for an upcoming race in February. I focus on exercise to help relieve stress from deadlines to other non priority tasks that still need to be done. To enhance my wellness in this area, I want to incorporate more cardio days during the week and have longer runs on the weekends. I can also incorporate free weights three times a week in the morning before going in to work . Just taking small step and being consistence will help me reach my goal and achieve greater wellness.
Hi Sabrina,
ReplyDeleteI love how proactive you are! I think incorporating strength training exercises into your regiment is an excellent idea. I like how you want to do it before work also..
Is there anything you do for flexibility?
Sabrina,
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of race are you training for? It's great that you're already registered and can use the time crunch as motivation for training. I'm a big fan of exercise-as-stress-relief, too, and have been trying to be more mindful during those times when it's easiest to zone out and slip into auto-pilot like long stretches on the treadmill or high-rep sets on weight machines. I can't say that I've noticed any lasting physical results, but I do feel like I work harder and consequently end up with a greater sense of accomplishment. Good luck in your training -- you're right on when you say that consistency is a major factor, so I think you'll do great. :)

That is grat that you are training for a race! What is it. I am actually doing the same ad trianing for a half marathon. I think it is awesome that you are focusing on your fitness/body area of your quadrant. I think that too many people either ignore that areain their lives, or lie to themselves and tell themselves they are flourishing in that area when they are really doing the exact opposite. It is very important though to not let it take too much from your other quardans in your life and to keep them balanced so you do not sufferin another area.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, small steps will lead to big results. I've heart that it takes two weeks to develop a routine. Having said that, why do those two weeks seems so hard! I mean really it's only 14 days and it seems we can quickly fall off the wagon. Maybe that is way starting with small changes makes the overall change easier.
ReplyDeleteI think another thing we do that is self destructive is to be so severe on ourselves. If we happen to eat a bad meal or don't make it to the gym, we beat ourslves up or just give up all together. We need to find a balance between self motivation and self love.
I think the new Kelogg's advertisement is a positive change. Instead of focusing on what you will loose, it focuses on what you will gain.
